The AGM 2020 auction (held online during the pandemic) included rare and vintage books, figurines of Emma and Elinor, a lovely Georgian pin/pendant and original art featuring Chawton House.
Lady Molesworth's copies of Austen
Published in 1856 by Richard Bentley, this set of Jane Austen’s novels initially belonged to a fashionable self-made Victorian hostess whose social gatherings redirected political careers and included literati such as Dickens, Macaulay, and Thackeray. These books were donated to Chawton House by the winning bidder.
